Seven Springs Mountain Resort–which lost $220,000 after it took over operations of the Laurael Mountain Ski Area–is poised to get free money (your tax money, that is) from Ed Rendell.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that $6.5 million is ready to be released to help refurbish chairlifts, snow-making and grooming equipment and other ski area improvements.
Call us crazy, but we don’t think the taxpayers should be subsidizing a ski resort. Of course, when you’re already subsidizing millionaire professional athletes and their billionaire owners, what’s a few million for some ski resort owners?
