Gov. Shapiro wants unilateral power to commit the state to climate agreements

During a recent black-tie affair in a Manhattan ballroom, Gov. Josh Shapiro encouraged Pennsylvania lawmakers to embrace bipartisanship. “It doesn’t just last a weekend, and it can happen in Pennsylvania, not just in New York City,” Shapiro said. “We have proven that we can work together and deliver great results for the people of Pennsylvania.”

However, in his typical do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do style, Shapiro shunned bipartisanship by challenging recent Commonwealth Court opinions, effectively appealing to retain his unilateral executive powers.
