Op-Ed: The natural gas severance tax is not a good idea

If Oscar Wilde was right about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, then Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf should be feeling admired by President Biden as the two advance similarly damaging energy proposals.

Biden has undermined the country’s energy independence by canceling a pipeline and suspending oil and gas leasing on federal lands. Meanwhile,Gov. Wolf proposed instituting the nation’s highest effective severance tax on his state’s natural gas producers — Wolf’s 10th attempt in seven years.
