It’s getting late in Harrisburg and defenders of the education status quo are pulling out all the stops in order to thwart a rescue of 82,000 kids trapped in failing and violent schools. 

The PSEA needed more than $2 million to lobby legislators last year to keep kids in schools like Germantown High School where nine out of 10 fail to achieve basic proficiency in reading.
