Pennsylvania Doesn’t Have a Tax on Porn Either

Paul Carpenter writes a piece in the Morning Call arguing that Pennsylvania, by not passing a cigar tax, is subsidizing the industry – and (sarcastically) we should do the same for porn.

Big problem with his logic… we already don’t tax porn.  Trust me,  I know.[*]

Indeed porn and cigar purchases are already subject to the state sales tax, and porn and cigar companies pay the same taxes as every other business (the top corporate tax rate in the world).

[*]Because I study PA tax law, that is.
