Talking about PA Taxes

If you missed our Policies and Principles luncheon with Scott Hodge of the Tax Foundation, Eric Boehm of PA Independent has a write-up of the event, and also recorded a podcast with Hodge.

Hodge discussed the principles of sound tax policy, how Pennsylvania stacks up, and the impact of different types of taxes. Interestingly, he pointed out that taxes on businesses (which PA ranks especially poorly on) and income are more harmful to economic growth. He also noted that Pennsylvania has arguably the most “economic development” incentives of any state in the nation – but that, like steroids, is not healthy in the long term.
