PA Business Survey: Bad Budget Deal

The Lincoln Institute released its Fall Business Climate Survey for Pennsylvania (mostly surveying small business owners). Click here for results and here for a summary of findings.

Not surprisingly, most reported that the recession was negatively affecting their business. Interestingly, most elected officials got very poor marks (Arlen Specter leading the way with 87.7% viewing negatively).

On taxes and the budget, 82% disapprove of the budget deal. Respondents overwhelming opposed the Capital Stock and Franchise Increase, as well as spending the “Rainy Day Fund” and MCare fund. A majority, however, favored the Cigarette Tax increase and the legalization/taxation of table games at casinos.
