Weighted Student Funding Formula

Reason Foundation has a new yearbook and resources on weighted student funding.  Weighted student funding is a way for school districts, and states, to fund students instead of school buildings and staff.  Fifteen large school districts use weighted student funding, and Philadelphia has been moving towards that model.

In addition to the full report, Reason has an overview of weighted student funding – included benefits such as open enrollment/more choice for students, and greater autonomy for individual schools and principals – and a guide to best practices.
