Trucker’s Words of Wisdom on Taxes

A spokeswoman for House Democratic Appropriations Chairman Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia) said to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that a tax increase “is the last place we should go, but at this point nothing is off the table.”

But a trucker from Monongahela gets the prize for providing the best economic wisdom money can’t buy in Harrisburg:

“You cannot tax your way to prosperity. When you put more money in my pocket, I can buy more things. That produces more revenue for state government.”

It’s a sad commentary when a Pittsburgh trucker understands the economy better than those who are trying to govern it.
