In praise of compromise

The May edition of The Freeman has a creat commentary on  Compromise, Principles, and Politics.

Essentially the piece makes the point that “compromise” (or “bipartisanship”) in politics is akin to two pickpockets agreeing on how much money to rob you of.  On the other hand, the free-market involves only compromise, and true compromise at that – two parties agreeing to make a voluntary exchange without any coercion.
