Politicians and Economics

While a number of people say that many economic policy issues are “too complex” for the general public Thomas Sowell argues that for the most part these concepts – supply and demand more instance – are simple. However, supply and demand doesn’t offer good villains for politicians to demonize, so they instead offer absurd “solutions”, public hearings that go nowhere, and demagoguery.

Sowell’s Commentaries:
Part 1: on the subject of fuel prices. Part 2: on the topic of affordable housing. Part 3: on chain stores and prices.
