The Politics of Ethanol

NY Times article on The High Costs of Ethanol. If the typically liberal NY Times opposes the political games of ethanol, why does Governor Rendell continue to push for more ethanol subsidies and mandates?

Could it be because the top donor to his campaign plans to build a new ethanol plant? Could there be a little payback there?

(Good thing that we have campaign finance disclosure, but not limits, so it is easy to see who the big special interest donors are.)
