Jackpot for Gambling Staff
WGAL’s Ben Simmoneau is reporting that Gaming Control Board Staff make hefty salaries, higher than most make in other state jobs. The Gaming Board tries to justify its higher pay by claiming they need to higher experts from the Atlantic City and Las Vegas, but as WGAL notes, “nearly one-third of its employees came from other jobs in state government.“
In other words, the best patronage jobs you can find. Which may be why the Gaming Board ate through its budget and had to ask for more.
