Local Lawmakers Collect Thousands Before Leaving Office

WGAL’s Ben Simmoneau reports….

“After he gave himself a pay raise last year, the voters tossed Lebanon County state Rep. Pete Zug out of office on May 16. Dauphin County state lawmaker Mark McNaughton also voted for last year’s lawmaker pay raise, and after months of public anger, he announced he would not seek reelection.

“Once both men found out they’d be leaving Harrisburg, they took a combined $17,000 above and beyond their $72,000 salaries. They did it by cashing in years of back-dated reimbursement payments.”
