Pay-raise suit on to high court

…”the state Supreme Court has agreed to hear Stilp’s arguments that the bill was unconstitutional because it allowed lawmakers to skirt a state constitutional ban on mid-term raises by taking their raises as unvouchered expenses.

“The high court also will consider Philadelphia Judge John W. Herron’s lawsuit claiming the repeal of judicial raises violated a clause of the state constitution that attempts to insulate judges from political influence by barring any reduction of judicial pay, short of a statewide pay rollback.”
