School Choice & Competition Improve ALL Schools

On Friday, Andrew Lefevre blogged about a woman who was sentenced to jail for lying about her zip code in hopes of sending her daughters to a better school. An unfortunate decision many Pennsylvania parents, who can’t afford to move, are making to get their children out of failing schools.

In this video, Matthew Ladner of the Goldwater Institute briefly explains how lower-income families don’t have the luxury to move into school districts they want, but through school choice and competition, all schools will improve, even those already considered well-performing.

This video was filmed as part of a series Reason.tv did in support of National School Choice Week. You can view the rest of the videos here.
