RGGI Would Hurt Pennsylvanians

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a network of nine surrounding states that have imposed caps on CO2 emissions in a failed attempt to impact climate trends. Current member states have experienced increased energy prices, job losses, and rising production costs.

Despite not having the authority to issue new taxes—which the agreement is—Governor Wolf signed an executive order to join the RGGI. Pennsylvania lawmakers should learn from the experiences of other states, and seek alternative and proven solutions to energy emissions.
