Dear Gas Companies: Please Pay for Our Water Park

Next time you hear groups like PennFuture whining about the Growing Greener boondoggle stash running low, keep in mind that it funds projects like this one the Altoona Mirror reports on this morning:

EBENSBURG – Borough officials viewed a $300,000 state grant as a bit of a long shot when they applied in June.

Now, it’s one that will bump their pool plans from basic upgrades to a modern water park in town.

News that Ebensburg landed the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant is expected to mean council will pick a flashier, $1.1 million option for pool upgrades – a plan that includes a redesigned pool, tube slides and water play park for children – without footing most of the bill….

Many projects funded were “staycation” spots like Ebensburg’s pool, DCNR Secretary John Quigley said.

These are the kinds of Growing Greener projects these eco-frauds — claiming it’s for protecting the state environment — want the natural gas companies to pay for via a severance tax.
