Pelosi Explains the Health Care Bill

In a speech in Pittsburgh to the “Women of Steel”, which includes the Steelworkers union, Lois Lane, Lana Lang, and Supergirl, U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi outlined what the new health care bill means, and why the union should use its compulsory dues to elect Democrats. I happened to catch a bit on PCN last night:

People moving out of the kitchen, as I was when I went to Congress, would be able to say, “I want to be self employed,” “I want to start a business,” “I want to change jobs,” “I want to have flexibility.” That’s what this bill gives them. Not only them, but to our economy – that vitality to our economy.

It’s about innovation. It’s about wellness. It’s about not only health care for America, but the health, the good health of America. It’s about prevention, not amputation. It’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s about something so special.”

A very straightforward explanation, if your first language is Gibberish.

If, however, you want a bit more information, here are some articles I’ve been compiling on the effects of the new health care law. I also recommend the Heartland Institute’s new report, The Obamacare Disaster, which you can read online or request a copy of the short book.
