“Free” School Trip

The Times-Tribune ran a story on yet another instance of school officials using tax dollars for everything but educating students. The Mid Valley School District sent some of its officials to Orlando, Florida for a vacation conference hosted by the National School Boards Association.

Expenses for the officials (including those who brought spouses) for the week-long stay total $36,000. The reimbursements include not only hotel rooms, but gym access, minibars, and meals at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse as well.
