Who’s your cable guy?

For the first time in 30 years Pittsburgh residents will be able to choose who provides their cable. The Post-Gazette reports the city is negotiating a contract that would allow Verizon to compete with Comcast, the current provider.

Comcast’s Bob Grove spokesmen comments:

We think we are very competitive, and when you get competition,
consumers win, said Mr. Grove. We knew this was coming, and we’re going to compete for every inch of the territory.

Wait, are you saying competition leads to better service? What a novel idea. I wonder if this principle would work in other service industries . . . like electricity.
