Nation’s Newest School Choice Program

Georgia enacted new legislation that would create a tax credit for donations to scholarship organizations. Much like Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit, the Georgia plan allows businesses to take the tax credit. Unlike in PA individuals are also able to take a credit for donations ($1,000 for individuals, $2,500 for married couples). Georgia’s program will also be universal, meaning all children (regardless of family income) are eligible.
