Transportation Funding Study

A PennDot commission released a report on funding for transporation titled “Addressing Pennsylvania’s Transporation Funding Crisis” (they identify a funding “crisis” because of too little taxpayer funding for transportation, not too much).

Read some coverage of the study in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Patriot News, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

What everyone at the Commonwealth Foundation and anyone trying to park along along State Street in Harrisburg recently is wondering is why, if Pennsylvania is so strapped for transporation funding, was both federal highway and state funding used to tear out trees and replace them with many, many bricks (see picture).
