PSBA: “Limit School Spending for Cyber Schools”

The Pennsylvania School Board Association has finally come to agree that school spending should be limited to what it actually costs to educate a child: Patriot News – Districts question cyberschool funding.

Naturally, they argue that principle should only apply to charter school funding (which includes cyber schools), not to public schools. In other words, funding should be limited to schools that parents choose to send their children to in order to protect the government-run school monopoly.

Shouldn’t the public school boards be forced to justify their tax and spending increases the same way the PSBA is calling for cyber-schools to justfiy their expenditures?
