Few people know true American History, for one example, since it was eliminated from the schoolbooks. Most people today have been intentionally deprived of knowledge. Our High School graduates, for the past decade or more, have been among the most ignorant in the world. (as was determined by a survey of a couple dozen nations - we came in next to last) Being deprived of proper education, they don't even know what it is that they don't know (and that includes most of US).
Public Schools once belonged to the Public - - the People who send their children there to be properly educated. Do you really want to fix our school system? Then GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING! TAKE BACK OUR SCHOOLS FROM THE UNIONS THAT USURPED THEM. TAKE BACK OUR CHILDREN FROM THE POLITICAL CARTEL THAT CAPTURED, DEPRIVED AND BRAINWASHED THEM (and most of US). ORGANIZE PARENTS NATIONWIDE AND THROW THE UNIONS THE HELL OUT OF THE PEOPLE'S SCHOOLS!
There may still be time to start educating our children again, with American traditions and family values at the basis of their education, before the CARTEL completes their bankruptcy and internal destuction of the USA.
We are like the crowd of people on the cattle-car, travelling down the tracks at high speed, not knowing where we are heading. When the train finally came to a stop and the doors were opened, those Jews too late found out.
Get the Cartel's UNIONS OUT of the People's schools. The PEOPLE must take back THEIR schools from the politicians; take back THEIR children from the brainwashers who mold their minds for hours, day after day, continually, year after year. The PEOPLE must organize nationwide, and take back CONTROL of THEIR schools, to which they can safely send THEIR children, to be properly educated.
This is but the basic part of what the organized population needs to do, to UNDO what the organized, Anti-American Radicals have been doing, incrementally, for the past century.
WE are to decide how much a teacher earns in pay, and what his or her health insurance, retirement and other benefits are, which are not to be significantly better than OUR OWN.
We are to protect our nation's borders, our present population, and our children's future.
We are to make our Congress aware that THEY are NOT OUR LEADERS. They are our REPRESENTATIVES!

Merit pay systems attract better teachers? What school would you be citing as an example? Merit pay is a relatively new term and it has yet to be seen what it will do to our education system. Also, being a teacher, which I am sure in your eyes will dull my credibility, I am so tired of hearing everyone else's ideas of what will fix our educational system. Isn't it ironic that the gallup polls state that everyone feels that the American education system is doing a poor job, but at the same time they believe their local school district is above par. Could that be because of a all of the negative publicity that the press keeps giving schools and teachers? I have a Master's Degree and I spend many hours each evening working much later than I ever would at a 9-5 job. Yes, I have summers off but I have to have a job in the summer to make up for the difference between my salary and everyone else I know with a college degree. I am completely underappreciated and have to deal with hearing the same uneducated ideas that you are presenting on a daily basis from those that have never stepped even close to a classroom. If teaching is such an easy job then instead of writing about it, why don't you do it? For everyone who complains that teachers don't work long enough hours, and have summers off, and have tenure to protect them when they do everything wrong, then why don't you go back to school and get a teaching degree? It sounds like a cake job to me.
