Maybe I have it wrong, but I don't fault Rohrer for voting for the pay increase. He did not, however, go along with the pernicious thievery of the majority in using the "unvouchered expenses" to bypass the constitutional requirement of an intervening election. As our state's school districts show, the unions main premise is to lower everyone to the lowest common denominator. Bring on full student vouchers and cull the herd of union influence.

Corbett at first would not rule out a tax increase..Then he follows Rohrer's lead and signs the No Tax Increase pledge... Then I swear I heard him say "not in my first term" on a PCN interview. I am now looking at his UNDECIDED on whether to obtain Voter approval for a tax increase. So if the voters don't approve does that mean HE WILL INCREASE TAXES?.... We are about to be hit with a 20-30% tax increase in 2012 due to pensions and CORBETT is still wondering about how to solve the problem? How long has it been known 2012 was going to be a bad year...since 2003?
... What we don't need is another stuffed shirt in the pockets of the Teachers union? What we do not need is IFFY answers! The only one on this survey who has his act together is SAM Rohrer

Tom Corbett has taken a significant amount of union pac money--not only from the teacher's unions but also from the Afl-Cio. I don't think he will go against any union. Thus, property tax and prevailing wage will not be changed.

I find it interesting that both Mr. Corbett and Mr. Wagner want to restore the public's faith and confidence in state government, yet continue to give "politico-speak" answers in CF's survey so that they can change their positions depending on which way the political winds are blowing. The easiest way for someone in government to earn my trust and confidence is to give straight answers to questions and have strength in their convictions and policies. Mr. Rohrer definitely had the best answers compared to the other two candidates. Too bad he took the middle-of-the-night pay raise or else I would be more open to what he has to say.

I am glad Tom Corbett is willing to oppose unions in support of K-12 vouchers but can he really address the Commonwealth's brewing pension liability disaster if he won't come out in support of abolishing forced unionism and defined contribution plans for public sector employees? I'm concerned that if we elect Corbett we won't make much progress in saving PA from a California-style crisis. I hope I'm wrong. I would be glad to hear from Corbett supporters.
