Quoting "We pay 1 or 2% more for our benefits than you do in Soc Sec and that is why we get 2x the amount 10 years earlier-"

No, you get really 4x the amount 10-20 years earlier, because your union has successfully bribed the corrupt/gutless approving politicians with contributions and re-election support ..... which is WHY taxpayers must renege on the continued funding of your pensions.

What public govt/ed says is
a. We made a good choice you did not dont blame us
b. Fight for the kind of benefits we have where you work instead of knocking us down
c. The people you elected agreed to this - blame them
d. We pay 1 or 2% more for our benefits than you do in Soc Sec and that is why we get 2x the amount 10 years earlier- good management and maybe the stock market will come back and you wont have to pony up
All stupid arguments but possession is 9/10 of the law and they have a contract. As my tennis partner said yesterday about our Republican mayor- "he will get a nice pension and health if he gets one more term- he has no interest in changing anything". The people we elect are just in it to get their name out there for legal, real estate, insurance business and have no interest in getting unions mad as they will boycott- do you think private sector workers will change their lawyer, insurance etc to a guy who stands up to them? Heck no

May 23

We here at CF are proud to be part, along with Gov. George M. Leader, his family, and many others, of a transpartisan coalition favoring "real corrections reform, right now." That is why this morning, I attended the release of the recommendations of the Justice Reinvestment Initiative working group. At ...
