Your Liquor Dollars at Work

When government entities perform poorly the solution is not to “run them like a business” because they are not a business. Government entities should behave like government entities and base their business operations on an outcomes logic model. The profit motive is what drives businesses to behave the way they do; an owner’s skin in the game or being driven by stock holders or investors to make a profit. For government entities (and nonprofits) measureable outcomes and impacts take the place of profits.

We’ve been had when the PLCB spends our tax dollars on marketing consultants that don’t understand that without the profit motive to drive operations their recommended “business” solutions are not going to work .
