Pennsylvania Budget Deal Appears Dead

Donna Dickey posted on 10/5/2009 8:51:00 PM
No tax increases. If the Legislature has to go back to square one to work on a budget, then do so.

Seniors are already facing a cut in their incomes for 2010,
With no COLA and increase costs for Medicare.

Thanks for keeping us reliably informed. Commonwealth Foundation is not only a policy source but a news source. Great piece on tax increases and tax cuts and cuts in Tax Credits for schools.

They need to pass HB1943. They have 99 House R's votes. They just need a few centrist D's to push it over the top. It adequately funds education. It does not raise taxes. It shares the cutting pain all around.

Senate Rs already said they would vote for it.

Deal done. Force Rendell to veto another budget.
