Victoria Coates

Dr. Victoria C. G. Coates is a Senior Fellow with the Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives.

Victoria is an adjunct fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a consulting curator at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the author of the forthcoming book David's Sling: A History of Art and Democracy from the Parthenon to Picasso, and co-curator and catalog author for the new exhibition The Last Days of Pompeii: Decadence, Apocalypse, Resurrection. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania specializing in Italian renaissance studies and regularly contributes to conferences and symposia in the United States and Europe. Victoria is also a former Director of Research for former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, providing editorial support and content analysis for Mr. Rumsfeld's New York Times best-selling memoir, and a former foreign policy advisor to the Rick Perry presidential campaign. She contributes to the blog RedState.com.

Victoria is a lifelong Pennsylvanian with ties to Lancaster and Centre Counties who currently resides in Philadelphia with her husband and two children.
